FUTURE CHEER NATIONALS COUNTDOWN: 4 days

Strange/exciting things that happened in the past week:
1. i found my shoe that i lost at prom, by the side of the road, decorated in leaves
2. i drove the crimson heat van (yo and what)
3. me and my friend googled 'linda blair' (the girl that plays regan in the exorcist) and nothing came up, then everything we searched afterwards came up with a picture of linda blair
4. i rode in an ambulance to a&e in the middle of my prom
5. i saw liberty's boob

So i literally just got home from training...i say literally, it was 2 hours ago but it feels like just now cos ive been sat here watching a programme about murderers and eating salad the whole time... anyway im on this training hype and i feel like preaching about CA and how amazing their abs are because their abs are amazing oh and did i mention their abs are amazing. Welcome to my panther party.

Far right- Jamie Andries and her perfect poof (hair, not a camp man)

Alot of people (particularly non cheerleader males) always say to me 'ew why do you want a stomach like that its disgusting' and to be fair, when i was little my mum had a 6 pack (yeah she's a ninja beast) and i used to get scared by it but, i was 7 and naive and not a cheerleader then. Its all about the abs yo! It signifies strenght and power, plus it looks sick with cheer kits. I do crunches and ab workouts but, not religeously, and i guess abs is just something that comes with the sport if you work your stomach muscles alot. But i would genuinely kill for abs like the girls of CA, they are literally my abspiration. I found a picture of their abs workout which i might impose on my youth team over the summer if i ever feel like torturing them- not that they need it, most of them have better 6 packs than me anyway...

Cheer Athletics Abs Workout:

My... 26th June.. resolution: do this abs circuit every day until i have abs like the girls from CA. If anyone can tell me what a 'bicycle' is it'd be much appreciated.

And you might've guessed, i like making lists. So here's a list of some cheerleaders/athletes/general people that inspire me:

- Gabi Butler
- Kelsey Rule
- Maddie Gardner
- Kiara Nowlin
- Jessica Ennis
- Shawn Johnson
- Paula Radcliffe
- Ronaldinho

- Aimee Starfish
- Whitney Love

Gabi Butler. This pretty much explains why.

Kelsey Rule. Who is also quite possibly the most beautiful cheerleader ever

Maddie Gardner- for her ball up 360

Kiara Nowlin- World Champion Power Tumbler

Jessica Ennis- World Champion Heptathlete. And the woman my dad said he'd prefer as a daughter...

Shawn Johnson- World AA Champion 2007 and Balance Beam Gold Bejiing Olypics 2008

Paula Radcliffe- set a world record for the marathon. Also poo'd at the side of the road.

Ronaldinho- inspired me to become a footballer when i was 6

Aimee Starfish- for her spike and flying skills

Whitney Love- first female to perform a standing double in competition

Obviously im nowhere near as talented as any of these people, but a girl can dream and dreaming is believing so... watch this space? Nah but seriously, these guys are all sick.
Oh and i totally forgot Gareth Green, my coach, purely for the fact that he's so hench but then he got little chicken legs. In all seriousness though, best coach in the country.

Just on a side note- alot of people like to stereotype cheerleaders as skinny, blonde and bitchy. Some people are all three, some are one but not the other, and some are not at all. Cheer, like any other sport, has people of every different shape, size and personality. In fact, the sportsmanship displayed at competitions between teams (99% of the time) is incredible. Some people say that cheer, like gymnastics and ballet, can cause young girls to develop eating disorders in order to lose weight and fly which i can respect but at the same time, many other sports have the same kind of regime: in cheer, generally if you're smaller you're more likely to fly however in high level squads and allstar squad's it's all dependant on flexibility and core strength. In rugby, someone less strong is more likely to be a winger than in the middle of the scrum (im no expert on the names and im going on what i can remember from my brother in year 8) but yeah anyway, all i can say to cheerleaders out there trying to lose weight because they think they're not skinny enough to be a cheerleader or want to fly is- focus on your flexiblitiy. Forget about your weight. It does not matter in this sport, and it puts you in a mindset that is not only distracting but also dangerous. You are beautiful and you're size is perfect. Everybody's body type is different so don't compare yourself to your teammates and friends and don't put yourself down. When you look in the mirror and you don't like what you're seeing, make a list of all the things that make you beautiful and focus on them, because a positive mindset = a positive mood and positive things will happen.

Cheerleading is a sport.
